Idi Amin Ruled Broadcasted Murders on TV

Idi Amin was the dictator and ruler of Uganda for a total of eight years. In his attempt to create “peace,” Amin kept his citizens in check by using firing squads and the expulsion of over 80,000 Asian citizens from Uganda. He also was infamous for broadcasting murders of his own soldiers on television.
Towards the end of his rule Idi was even aided by Gaddafi, however, he still ultimately had to flee. He never expressed any remorse for his regime. Before his death, his wife asked the Ugandan president if he could return but he replied he would have to pay for his crimes. He died in August of 2003 from an illness. He was also a polygamist and is thought to have had around 43 children.
The Last King of Scotland

The film The Last King of Scotland starring Forrest Whitaker was made about the life of Idi Amin and the many atrocities he committed through his rule. The title of the film comes from the fact that in real life Idi Amin often made up various titles for himself that seemed to give him more clout or were royal in nature.
For his portrayal of Idi Amin, Forrest Whitaker was awarded the Best Actor Oscar at the Academy Awards that year. He also won a variety of other awards for his completely brutal portrayal of the horrific dictator.
