Vlad III the Impaler (Or Maybe Dracula)

Vlad III was often referred to as Vlad the Impaler and for good reasons. Vlad loved to impale people during his reign, often skewering whole villages at a time while eating to the sounds of their screams. This love for bloodshed was the reason for his nickname of Dracula and the creation of the bloodthirsty vampire character.

He was said to be worse than Caligula or Nero, although some historians believe that some of the stories surrounding his actions may have been exaggerated. Although his connection to Dracula the vampire was forever solidified in Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula.
