Heidi Klum’s Ex Gave Up His Parental Rights For His Daughter’s Benefit

Sometimes being a good parent means letting someone else raise your child. Heidi Klum and F1 star Flavio Briatorela broke up before their daughter Leni was born. When Heidi married Seal, Flavio decided that Heidi and her new husband should be Leni’s primary caregivers.

He explained in an interview: “Leni is my natural daughter, but the three of us happily agreed that it made more sense if Seal adopted her, because a child needs to grow up in a family.” He added, “It’s hard to miss a baby that you never see. But I know that Leni is not an abandoned child.”
