American MMA fighter and former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman knows better than to do something extreme to his body in the days leading up to the fight, and his knowledge comes from experience. He told Huffington Post that he once had ten days to lose 32 pounds. “The weight just wasn’t coming off, so then I was down to eating a spoonful of peanut butter for the day… My brain started disappearing. I had no idea what people were saying to me. I was delirious. And then basically by the time weight cut time came around, I was not healthy. It’s something I would never do again,” he said.
