Due to the Affordable Care Act, and more specifically the Open Payments Program, it is now required for drug and medical companies to disclose how much they pay doctors and teaching hospitals. So, according to a review of ProPublica’s Dollars for Docs website, in a period of five months between 2013 and 2014, Dr. Oz received over $1.5 million from various pharmaceutical companies.
