Kody’s second wife is Janelle, who he met through his first wife Meri. Of meeting Kody, Janelle has said, “When he walked into the room I looked at him and had that feeling of remembering something I had forgotten. It was a singular experience. It didn’t occur to me when I met Kody to think of him in any other way than as Meri’s fiance… Over the next few years I would see them occasionally. Eventually, Kody and I became as good of friends as Meri and I were.”

Kody married Janelle on January 20, 1993 and together they had six children. Their eldest daughter Madison, who is the third oldest in the group, is expected to have the first Brown grandchild in May of 2017.
