Franklin D. Roosevelt and Eleanor Roosevelt

It seems as though open marriage has been a somewhat presidential pattern in the past with Franklin and Eleanor being no stranger to the arrangement apparently. 32 years of making the country better, four different election wins and a solid victory in World War II made Franklin one of the greatest presidents of all time, but he also was infamously known for the love of his mistress, Lucy Mercer.

The couple had an agreement so binding that Eleanor even let her man be with Lucy in exchange for continuing to contribute to the political responsibility of being First Lady. It would appear that the pair had one of the most famous open marriages in U.S. history.
