John G. Avildsen directed this film based on an earlier book called Lie a Little, Die a Little. Cry Uncle! It focuses on a private detective who takes on a case that includes blackmail, murder, and adult situations. While the film doesn’t include actual penetration it does include many other unsimulated acts.

Extensive nudity, orgies, drug use, graphic necrophilia, and other explicit acts are frequent, which led to the film being banned in Finland and Sweden when it was first released.Director Allen Garfield once claimed that Cry Uncle! is Oliver Stone’s favorite comedy film.
