Gandu (2010)

Gandu is a black and white Bengali movie that was directed by Qaushiq Mukherjee. The movie is highly critically acclaimed but caused an uproar because of its use of foul language and scenes of a very adult nature. Some viewers left the theater in the middle of the movies steamy scenes.

Gandu tells the story of a young man of the same name, who is full of rage, as he spirals into a lurid world of drugs, rap, and porn. The film won the Jury Award for Best Film at the South Asian International Film Festival in 2010. Rituparna Sen, who plays one of Gandu’s acquaintances, is his real-life girlfriend.
