Christian Bale is perhaps best known for his role as Batman in the Christopher Nolan-directed Batman trilogy but has proven his acting chops with other films such as American Psycho, The Fighter, and American Hustle. But do you remember Bale’s actual film debut? He was only 13 years old when he starred in Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun where he played Jamie Graham, a boy who becomes a prisoner of war during World War II. Bale was highly praised for his performance at such a young age and we’re sure at that time no one suspected he’d become the stud he is today.
