Since Little House went off the air, Melissa has continued to work. The show took up almost a decade of her life, and pretty much all of her teenage years. She played roles in movies such as The Diary of Anne Frank and Heart of the Storm. She also appeared in TV shows, including Nip/Tuck, Babylon 5, and Batman: The Animated Series. In more recent years, Melissa has turned her attention toward the political landscape. The lifelong Democrat actually ran for U.S. Congress in Michigan and won her primary. But she was forced to drop out due to health issues. It’s unclear whether she will return to politics as she may want to spend more time with her husband and two children.
