When Grint was five-years-old, he had to write a letter to media mogul Rupert Murdoch. He recalls his school made him do it because they were looking for funds to fix the school’s swimming pool.

Their logic was rooted in a name. They thought because the two shared the same name, Murdoch would be more sympathetic and help. That couldn’t have been further from the truth. Murdoch told US magazine about it and said: “It was never repaired!”
