Grint played in various school plays growing up. He wasn’t on the big screen yet, but when 2001 came around that all changed thanks to Hary Potter. Each role was highly sought after when Grint heard about it through CBBC’s Newsround. So, he asked his drama teacher to help him with his audition.

Grint’s audition was a rap. He dressed up in a girl’s dress and rapped about how much he wanted the role. The producers were impressed by the uniqueness and gave him a call.
