Even Kate Middleton Is Not Immune To Designer Criticism

If this royal ‘dis’ surprises you, then you are not alone. Even the lovely Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton has been the subject of unflattering remarks by some pretty big names in fashion. New wave designer Vivienne Westwood is known for her “out there” styles, so it’s not really shocking that her fashion ideals don’t line up with the royals’ tastes.

But in 2011, Westwood had this to say to Sunday Times Magazine: “It seems to me, that her (Middleton’s] image is ‘ordinary woman.’ Therefore, high street shopper,” she said. “And I just think she should be an extraordinary woman, wherever she gets her clothes from.” Westwood probably won’t be dressing the Duchess anytime soon.
