One such instance was in the film Selena, starring Jennifer Lopez which depicted the life of Tejano music icon Selena Quintanilla. In the film, Selena can be seen as a little girl singing in her father’s restaurants in one of her first public performances. Of course, the song also takes on a melancholy meaning in the film as the movie tells the tragic story of Selena. Selena was gunned down by the woman who managed her fan club at the young age of twenty-three.
