Dark Side of The Rainbow

The idea of the Dark Side of The Rainbow refers to the pairing of the Pink Floyd album “The Dark Side of the Moon” andThe Wizard of Oz. The synchronicity between the two gives the effect that the two were created to respond to one another, although this is not the case. The result is a music video-like effect, and it is commonly referred to as the Dark Side of The Rainbow. The origination of the link between the two seems to derive from a message board of Pink Floyd fans back in 1995 and has since spread into nearly mainstream notoriety. Pink Floyd band members have since commented on the interesting spectacle. David Gilmour, the singer and guitar player of Pink Floyd, said that it’s just a coincidence and even tried it for himself. Pink Floyd drummer, Nick Mason, similarly joked that the album was definitely based onThe Wizard of Oz, but ratherThe Sound of Music.
