Sean Connery Was Over Playing James Bond As Well

Sean Connery reprised the role as James Bond in six films throughout his career. During his time as 007, he felt that he wasn’t getting compensated accordingly for his laborious work on top of his painful celebrity status. At one point, he was even followed into the bathroom by photographers while shooting in Japan. Although he quit the role twice, he also returned twice for Diamond’s Are Forever and Never Say Never Again.

However, Connery was still deeply disappointed by how much he was getting paid compared to how much he was making the studio. In his own words, Conner once said, “I have always hated James Bond […] I’d like to kill him. Too bad he is James Bond and always will be.
