While Miley Cyrus has never said that she regrets being the star of the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana, she has expressed the negative impact the show had on her at times. She has said that working on the show taught her the opposite of what it means to be a young woman. She says that being made to look like someone she wasn’t at that age took a toll on her.

Since she was always made to look perfect for the show, when she wasn’t in costume, she felt uncomfortable in her own skin. She later revealed that she had essentially been getting ripped off financially the whole time. As the show ended, she also feared she would be Hannah Montana forever until she finally broke free.
