Team USA enlisted the help of an American icon, designer Ralph Lauren. He went all out for the Olympic Opening Ceremony uniforms. One interesting feature of this year’s outfits is they are installed with heating components (inside the jackets and gloves) that can be controlled by the athlete’s smartphone. U.S. Olympic Committee chief marketing officer Lisa Baird said of the innovative designs, “Ralph Lauren has effortlessly woven style and functionality into the opening ceremony uniform for the 2018 U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams. The revolutionary design will keep American athletes warm as they proudly walk through the Pyeongchang Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony.”
