These Politicians Totally Failed At Sporting Events

The politicians who serve us may have had their glory days playing sports, but those days are long gone and trying to play sports in your older years only equals one thing: A barrel of laughs. However, one way for politicians to connect with people is through sports, which these folks from Capital Hill and beyond all attempted. Do you think the following politicians still have it? Or are their glory days a thing of the past?

Boris the Bull Gets Carried Away in a Game of Rugby

Boris the Bull Gets Carried Away in a Game of Rugby

In 2014, former London Mayor Boris Johnson went to Tokyo on a trade visit. He just happened to catch a game of rugby. Johnson then decided to play some rugby with a group of kids. Can you guess what happened from the image?

Let’s get one thing straight. First of all, this is not the WWE. This is not what you call a shoulder block either. The child that you see in this image, Toki Sekiguchi, was 10 years old at the time and he just happened to be in the way of Boris the bull. You can guess what happened next as poor little Toki ended up on the ground. Johnson apologized for the unfortunate tackle immediately afterward, and Johnson gave Toki a rugby ball.

Tony Blair Don’t Just Stand There and Stare

Tony Blair Don’t Just Stand There and Stare

In 1997, British Prime Minister Tony Blair attempted to promote convergence between Scotland and England through the sport of soccer. Once again, here is one of those events where a politician tries to connect with the people. As Blair would put it, he was “obsessed” with this idea to become culturally aligned with Scotland. “I know it sounds a bit strange but I was for a time quite obsessed with the idea that, for example, for football we should be opening up the English league and the Scottish league and having them together because I always thought we should be looking at ways of making sure that people felt a connection. ” He felt the connection alright. Just take a look at him.

Why did Chris Christie get grabby with Jerry Jones?

Just One Tight Squeeze Should Do the Trick

Just One Tight Squeeze Should Do the Trick

A joyous occasion was had by all when the Dallas Cowboys made a comeback against the Detroit Lions. The sound of joyous laughter filled the arena, and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones felt all of the love. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie just happened to be in the box with Jerry Jones enjoying the game during the 2015-2016 football season. As the Dallas Cowboys made their comeback, Christie jumps up in excitement and embraces Jerry Jones.

Christie just happens to be a Cowboys fan. He is so much of a Cowboys fan that the Philadelphia Eagles fans were angry at him. They were angry because they felt “betrayed” by his choice of a favorite football team. The hug seen around the world made for some pretty funny memes as well.

This time, Boris ends up on the ground. What happened to poor Boris Johnson?

No Time for Limbo, It’s Tug-O-War Time

No Time for Limbo, It’s Tug-O-War Time

Yep, he’s back for more. For whatever reason, Boris Johnson joined in on a game of tug-of-war. It’s not his first or second sports flub. In fact, in 2016, the Mayor of London also tripped over a nine-year-old boy during a kickabout near Tower Bridge. Maybe he should do some balance and coordination training before signing up for these events, as he seems ill-prepared to handle these types of games.

At least he’s showing that he’s out there mingling with the common folk between getting things done for the people of London. We just wish he was a little more graceful.

What is the best thing to drink after jogging? See the dynamic duo up next.

Clinton and Gore Running With Refreshments

Clinton and Gore Running With Refreshments

Former President Bill Clinton and former Vice-President Al Gore were caught on camera after a morning jog. Clinton was an avid runner and would often be seen jogging with other politicians, or his daughter Chelsea. Here it appears that Clinton and Gore opted for McDonald’s over the breakfast served at the White House that morning. They are both holding McDonald’s cups while wearing their very short jogging shorts that were totally okay in the ’90s. Looking back at this photo, however, it’s pretty comical, especially Clinton’s enthusiastic expression as he’s caught being a goofball.

Did Marco Rubio make a complete pass or a complete fail in the next slide?

This is a site to behold. Former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney climbs into the ring for a fight. Now, this is not the political ring that politicians climb into in order to persuade you to vote for them in an election, but an actual boxing ring. He climbed into the ring with none other than Evander Holyfield.

Holyfield is a five-time boxing champion. During the 2012 presidential election, Romney got in the ring with Holyfield. Luckily, this was not a real boxing bout. This boxing bout was actually for charity. Romney was 68 at the time and Holyfield was 52. You can see the age difference and luckily Romney was the one throwing the punches.

Martha and the Big Mix-Up

Martha and the Big Mix-Up

Former Red Sox’s pitcher Curt Shilling does not seem very happy. He was rightfully upset at former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley because of her mistake that occurred in January 2010. Not only was Shilling upset, but Boston Red Sox fans everywhere were upset and embarrassed over a little mistake.

Martha Coakley appeared on a radio show and stated that former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani was a Yankees fan. Coakley went on to say that Curt Shilling was also a Yankee’s fan. This was obviously a mistake and radio host Dan Rea caught the mistake. She went on to say: “I’m wrong.” She also stated: “I’ve been called a lot of things…but never, I mean never, could anyone make the mistake of calling me a Yankee fan.”

Did George Bush Sr. start the bad bowling trend?

George Bush Gives Bowling a Try and Well……

George Bush Gives Bowling a Try and Well……

You may think that the grody bowling shoes they give you when you pay for your lane are extraneous, and if you just sneak out with your regular shoes on, you’ll be just fine. Here to demonstrate why you don’t do that, perhaps, is Former President George H. W. Bush. Apparently Bush had a little trouble with the shoes he wore back in 1989. He might have given the ball a little too much momentum, which then shifted back to him and caused him to go for a glide himself. While hilarious, this fall looks a bit painful as his knee makes contact with the alley wood. Ouch!

How did John Kerry fare when he gave windsurfing a try?

John Kerry Went Surfin’, Surfin’ U.S.A.

John Kerry Went Surfin’, Surfin’ U.S.A.

You can infer that John Kerry is an outdoors type of man. As the saying goes, age ain’t nothing but a number, and John Kerry proves this over and over. Speaking of over and over, you may see John Kerry again if you keep reading. Some people just want to recapture those youthful years with a little sporting activity.

John Kerry went windsurfing on August. 30, 2004, during the election year. His surfing was more than an outdoor activity. It was designed to be used for a photo op, but the opposing party used it to capitalize on Kerry’s change in stance on issues. The Bush-Cheney candidacy promoted this photo with the caption, “John Kerry. Whichever way the wind blows.” It did not quite work out for him and Bush was reelected in 2004.

Did Harry Reid get into a scuffle with someone?

Harry Reid and the Wild Workout

Harry Reid and the Wild Workout

There just comes a time when the weights and machines need to be put aside and good old calisthenics needs to be employed. Senator Harry Reid was at one time an amateur boxer. Boxing is a very tough sport which requires speed, agility and fighting ability. It looks like Reid got into some type of a scuffle from the image above. Was he trying to relive his glory days as a boxer?

Nope. Reid was working out on an elliptical machine. As I stated before, calisthenics would have done him some good. He fell off of the machine and ended up getting hurt pretty badly. He also sustained an injury to his eye using a resistance band.

Can you guess what Nick Clegg’s favorite candy bar is?

Nick Clegg Also Has a Case of the Butterfingers

Nick Clegg Also Has a Case of the Butterfingers

Nick Clegg is the former Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. He was very passionate about the sport of Rugby. He has done various tasks and activities dedicated to the sport and he was even going to form a rugby foundation. He went to the most obvious source in order to promote the idea of the foundation and that was the children of Leeds.

There is a video of Nick Clegg showing off his rugby skills for everyone to see. He did some fancy footwork while he was on the field, but the type of footwork that he did made him fumble the ball.

He’s back once again. Care to take a guess of who it is?

John Kerry Missed It by That Much

John Kerry Missed It by That Much

Once again, John Kerry gives it his all, and he comes up very short another time. Kerry is also known for many of his sports ventures online and the many laughs that go along with them. One time he was in a room with the team owners of the Green Bay Packers. He referred to Lambeau Field as “Lambert Field” which didn’t sit well with them. Okay, many people may not know the name of the Green Bay Packer’s home field. It seems like Kerry has a huge interest in sports. Will this be the last time Kerry appears in this article?

Would you like to play some table tennis? Gordon Brown tried.

One Hit and Many Misses With Gordon Brown

One Hit and Many Misses With Gordon Brown

Former Prime Minister and Labor Party member Gordon Brown had a friendly game of table tennis with English football manager Harry Redknapp. In January 2008, Brown was trying to launch a sports initiative and he thought it would be best to play a game of table tennis to promote the initiative.

Every time the ball was hit towards Brown’s direction, he would always miss the ball. Brown tried to make up for it by quickly recovering the ball nearly every time. Sadly, he only managed to return one rally during the game. I think the suit may have restricted his movements.

Up next, Chris Christie gives the big league a shot.

Chris Christie Switches Careers in Mid-Life

No one can say that governor Chris Christie lacks the athletic spirit. In June 2015 Governor Chris Christie got his turn to bat and he took it in stride. He was participating in a softball game at Yankee Stadium which was actually a charity softball game for families who lost their loved ones while serving for the NYPD.

The price of admission was $12 to get into the game and it was well worth the price not only to raise funds for the families of the slain NYPD officers, but Christie also hit a fly ball as well.

Do you think that you can guess who has the most fails?

Kerry Does It Again, and This Time He’s Mad

Kerry Does It Again, and This Time He’s Mad

John Kerry looks worn out in this image. He does not appear to be a happy camper. This photo was taken in August 2014. He sustained an injury to his right femur in a cycling accident in France. He must have been recovering because he looks like he is in some immense pain. It could either be that, or he was embarrassed because of what he was riding. If you pay close attention, you can see that the bicycle is pink. If you also have not noticed, he is riding a girl’s bicycle.

Next, Rob gave football some effort. Would you be willing to guess what happened to Rob?

Rob Goes Juggernaut at a CFL Grey Cup Event

Rob Goes Juggernaut at a CFL Grey Cup Event

The late Rob Ford was a former Mayor of Toronto and a businessman. One of his business ventures involved the sport of football. Although Rob Ford was a fan, he never played football in high school. He may have seen many people play, but the game is much different when someone actually takes to the field.

Ford tried to fake a handoff at this CFL Grey Cup event which occurred November 2013. He ends up doing a spin but falls to the ground. To make light of the fall, Ford gets up smiling and another gentleman runs towards him and playfully grabs him as if to tackle him. Hey, you can only laugh it off, so the next time you see a politician give an attempt at a sport, just go ahead and laugh.

“My Economic Plan Is Better Than My Bowling”

“My Economic Plan Is Better Than My Bowling”

The game of bowling is not as easy as it seems. It involves a little bit more than just rolling a ball down a lane and hitting a few pins. During the 2008 campaign trail, Barack Obama visited Pennsylvania and decided to go to a bowling alley. He was attempting to connect to the blue-collar workers in that area, and what better way to do it by bowling.

Barack Obama came up short, like, really short, during his attempt to connect with the voters that day. He only scored a 37. One pundit was quoted as saying: “He bowls like my four-and-a-half-year-old daughter.” Obama even had something to say about his unfortunate game: “My economic plan is better than my bowling.”

Why did Tony Blair have a bad hair day?

Who Is At Fault, Marco Rubio Or The Kid?

Who Is At Fault, Marco Rubio Or The Kid?

We have a picture of Senator Marco Rubio playing a friendly game of pigskin. The goal of throwing the ball is to throw the ball to the open man, or child in this case. As the ball connects, it should go into the hands of the person who is trying to catch the ball, and then its end zone city from there.

A video shows Marco Rubio throwing a ball to a child who looks to be about 4 or 5 years old. The child catches the ball, but not in his hands. He gets hit in the face with the ball. You could look at this in one or two ways: Either Rubio threw a bad pass, or the child did not clasp his hands together in time to catch the ball. Rubio went on Twitter about the accident and said:

“The QB always gets the blame.”

Barack Obama Pitches and It Goes Elsewhere

Barack Obama Pitches and It Goes Elsewhere

Every baseball fan waits for the Opening Day game. Baseball is one of our favorite past times other than watching television and other activities. Barack Obama was attending a game on April 5, 2010, at the Nationals Park in Washington DC. The Washington Nationals were playing against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Obama stepped up to the plate and got into the pitching position. He got a good wind-up for the pitch, and what happened next was totally amazing. The ball floated off camera and he missed the strike zone. The ball went way left, literally.

John Kerry gets on the grid-iron. Do you think John Kerry was ready to give it his all or was he about to fall?

John Kerry Has Butterfingers and Drops the Ball

John Kerry Has Butterfingers and Drops the Ball

Do you notice something out of place in this image? It should be very obvious. Everyone is ready for grid-iron action except one person. Everyone is “suited up” as we use to say back then. Everyone has their game gear and their game face on, with the exception of the coach, and of course, John Kerry.

Who plays football wearing an ordinary shirt and khakis? This seems hilarious and it is hilarious. It’s very hard to run with those khaki’s on. That is why football pants have elastic in them so that you can maneuver. John Kerry was obviously trying to do something with the ball and things got buttery.
