Our fancy smartphones these days enable us to do some amazing things with photos. One fun feature is to create a panoramic photo, which is done through the camera app stitching together several images. When done right, they can be quite beautiful, capturing beautiful sweeping landscapes, the shoreline, and more. But as we all know, technology is flawed, and sometimes the camera doesn’t do such a stellar job of stitching together those images. The result can be ridiculous and often even creepy. See what happens panoramic photos epically fail, and hilarity ensues.
The Two-Headed Freak
Polycephaly is a condition in which a person is born with two heads and shares one body. It can be seen in humans and animals, though it really is quite rare. So we’re guessing this young lady doesn’t actually have two heads and it’s just a result of a panoramic photo fail. The two completely different expressions is pretty impressive though. Perhaps she is just trying to emulate Sara Poulson’s two-headed characters from American Horror Story: Freak Show, Dot and Bette. If she is, I’d say she nailed it…the truth is though, she sneezed mid-photo, and this was the glorious result.
Proof The Earth Isn’t Flat?
This shot makes us dizzy and terrified all at once. Perhaps it’s the weirdness of the earth seemingly folding in on itself coupled with the darkness of the sky, and that slowly creeping wave. It looks as if the ocean is opening up and about to swallow those people into its watery depths. This would be a great picture to send to all of those flat Earth-believers. It’s evidence that we’ve all been wrong all along; the world is neither round not flat, but rather U-shaped. Or maybe it’s a zig-zag? To be continued.
A Floating Head Appears
A tourist photo that was meant to depict a panoramic shot of an amazing ancient arena instead turned into a weird shot of a woman’s floating, disapproving head. What makes it even a bit more odd is that the woman’s body appears to be facing the other way with her hands on her hips…but then there’s her head with with that crazy expression, as if it’s saying, “I’m watching you!” It kind of gives off an Alice In Wonderland vibe, with the Queen of Hearts yelling “Off with her head!”
All In Pieces
This guy was probably doing something really cool—an epic cliff dive perhaps—but we’ll never know. Instead, we were gifted this unnerving shot that looks like a bunch of chopped up body parts (minus the blood luckily) being tossed into a lake. We’d really like to know which way he was facing because it is impossible to tell simply from what we see here. Was he doing a flip? Was he diving? And now that we’re looking closely, what happened to his head? Maybe we should connect him to the floating head lady.
A Perfect Mistake
In all honesty, this particular panorama isn’t a fail, but a win. While it may not be what the person was attempting to capture, it turned out pretty damn cool. It displays an artistic shot of a bird gracefully flying in sequence. Aside from a blurred spot behind the man’s back, and a possibly elongated head (though maybe that’s its shape?) there is nothing really wrong with this picture. National Geographic would be proud.
When A Greek Myth Comes To Life
For the first time ever caught on camera, the ancient Green mythological monster Orthrus. Orthrus was the two-headed dog who guarded the castle of Geryon, a fearsome giant who lived west of the Meditteranean. He was supposedly killed by Hercules, but this photo is evidence that the creature lives on! Well, either that or this guy’s dog turned his head while he was taking a panoramic shot. That explanation is definitely not as fun, but it is the more likely of the two.
Whoa, It’s like a real life Super Stretch Armstrong. Or Plastic Man! Inspector Gadget! No, wait, I got it…Elasti-Girl! (For those non-nerds out there, that list contained an ’80s toy, ’80s cartoon character and a few comic book super heroes for good measure). How much easier would life be if we could stretch our bodies like that? We’d never have to move to again! Eh, we’d probably get pretty lazy, overweight and weak though. Oh well, it would be a neat party trick! Side thought, what the heck is she holding in her hand?
A Horror Movie In The Makingfailed panoramic photos
The first thing this panoramic photo makes us think of is that gruesome Dutch horror flick The Human Centipede. Haven’t seen it? Good. Don’t but if you must know the film’s plot, here’s a quick rundown: A mad scientist kidnaps three young tourists, and sews them together, connecting their backside to their mouths, in an attempt to make a human centipede-type creature. We won’t divulge any more ghastly details, but you can only imagine what happens once they’re sewed together (yes, everything you are thinking does happen). Not really the image we’d like to associate with a photo of a baby. If we were his or her mother, we would’ve permanently deleted this one.
Uh…WTF?!failed panoramic photos
Ok, what? We’re stumped and honestly, have no idea of what’s going on here. So, a guy is playing around in a…bathtub? That is a bathtub, right? What is he doing in there? Playing peekaboo? Actually, is there more than one guy in the bathtub? Upon further inspection, you can see there is one hand gripping the side of it on the far left, and then a foot hanging off the side on the far right. So either two dudes are in there or one guy was flopping all around like a fish. And why was a panoramic photo being taken of this? Oh how we would have loved to have been a fly on the wall during this photo.
A Terrifying Two-Legged Feline
Nothing to see here folks, just move it along, nothing to see at all. It’s just your average two-legged (and earless?) cat taking a casual stroll down the street. The kitty looks quite serious, too, as if it is on an important mission. Perhaps he forgot his briefcase. Or maybe this cat is just rushing with that expression because they’re sick and tired of getting gawked at and picked on all of the time. It’s not their fault they were born with only two legs! And living in perpetual silence as an animal is not easy. Poor thing. The world can be so cruel!
Don’t Drink And Panorama
This is what happens when you and your friends get together, have a bunch of drinks, and start messing around with the panoramic feature. It looks as if Mr. Naked here was sleeping with his back against the chair when he suddenly flopped right over mid-panoramic photo being taken. Hopefully there was no puke involved. One thing worthy to note is that it is kind of amazing how his abs seem to mesh perfectly into the line down the center of his back. He kind of looks like some creepy horror film monster, but his wasted expression makes it not quite as scary.
Legs In A Chair
There’s nothing like sitting out in your yard, drinking a beer, and enjoying the summer weather (just be sure to have that bug spray handy). That is, unless your torso gets chopped off. This photo fail somehow managed to chop off the top of this person, but you can still see the entire chair. Perhaps they were also drunk and swaying back and forth. And what is that long black bag sitting by its lonesome in the background? A random bag of abandoned golf clubs? What is that bottle next to the chair? This photo fills us with so many questions.
Willy Wonka’s Long-Lost Friends
Oompa Loompa doompadee doo, I’ve got another puzzle for you. What do you get when you try to take a panoramic shot of two boys and epically fail? A creepy image of some shrunken, mouthless, boy-like creatures. Ok, so that doesn’t really rhyme, or sound musical, but you get it. These guys even look like they were crouching down in a synchronized dance. If you look closely, you see that there is also someone shrunken in the background who appears to have on one very long shirt.
This one is pretty cool because at first glance, it apears to be a regular picture. But then you see it…his eyes are looking in two comepletly different directions. While there may actually be some people out there who are born like this (or even more rare, can somehow manage to shift thier eyes in opposite directions) this was a pretty seamless panoramic photo fail. At least we hope it is, and we’re not just picking on some poor dude. In our defense, we stumbled upon it on a panaromic photo site, so of thats the case, it’s thier fault, right?
This Furry Centipede Monster Is The Stuff Of Nightmares
Caught on camera, for the first time ever, the giant furry centipede! Just kidding, we’re guessing that’s probably a dog. Well, we’re hoping it’s a dog at least, because if not, I’m never sleeping again. It’s pretty weird how the shadow falls perfectly along its body. Oh, god, we’re getting sick just at the thought of such a creature existing. Our biggest question, though, is why someone felt the need to take a panoramic picture of that deck? There’s nothing really exciting going on there. Except for a giant furry monster. Maybe it is real.
The Ultimate Selfie Stick
In a world of endless selfies, this girl has figured out the ultimate solution. She has no need for a selfie stick, an anti-gravity case (a phone case that sticks onto any surface), or even an AirSelfie (that contraption that flies up into the air holding your phone to take a pic–yes this does exist). She has just taken some hints from Elasti-Girl and figured out a way to stretch her arm out for that perfect shot. In all honesty, we wouldn’t be too shocked if science created a way for us to do this strictly for selfie taking purposes.
The Headless Stranger
While on vacation in Vermont, the wife of this mysterious headless man was just messing around with the panoramic option on her phone, in hopes of capturing a special moment. She asked her husband to please smile for the picture, but he was really not in the mood to have his photo taken, so he made a grumpy face (which we cannot see) and shook his head “no” in hopes of getting her to stop. Well he got his wish…with that shake, his face, well, his whole head, disappeared. Though if you look really closely, you can see a sliver of his hat.
Ah, marriage. They say that after marriage, we are simply no longer two single individuals, but rather two people joined together to become one unit. I wonder if this husband and wife knew how literal that would be when they first said, “I do.” When they managed to take a panoramic photo of themselves at the Grand Canyon, they were melded into one person. We see most of the wife, but that’s the hubby’s left arm and half of his torso, and that extra leg is his as well. They do say you lose yourself in love.
The End Of Earth
We retract our previous statement about the flat Earthers being wrong and the Earth actually being a zig-zag. (In case you don’t know what a “Flat Earther” is, they are people who belong to a society, the Flat Earth Society, that actually believes the world is not round, but flat like a pancake, and that all of the supposed science that says otherwise is a lie. Yup, these are real people.) Well, it seems the world does have an end and these poor people are about to find out what happens when you fall right off. They seem pretty calm considering what is about to happen. We’d be a little more panicked.
It might seem silly, but this lady really freaks us out; It feels like she’s going to pop out of the screen and come after whoever is in her way. It’s probably just because she is reminiscent of the evil girl from The Ring and that movie was totally spooky. For those who haven’t seen the movie, anyone who watches this creepy tape gets attacked and killed by an even creepier little girl that has long dark hair that hides her face. Except this chick is even creepier because she has a misshapen and distorted face. In reality she was probably just shaking her head and flipping hair around during the shot, but we’d be happy to never have to look at her face again.
