Selena Gomez is making headlines this week with her highly-anticipated return to music. She released a new song on October 23rd called “Lose You To Love Me” and fans went crazy about the lyrics that were obviously about her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber. Now, only 24 hours after the release of that song, she’s released a second track called “Look At Her Now.”
The new surprise-release song seems to be about how she grew as a person after her split from Bieber. The two celebs dated on and off for almost a decade after first getting together in 2010 as teenagers.
“Of course she was sad / But now she’s glad she dodged a bullet / Took a few years / To soak up the tears / But look at her now / Watch her go,” are some of the lyrics from the song.
After the release of the first single, “Lose You To Love Me,” Bieber’s new wife Hailey Baldwin reportedly took to Instagram to throw shade at the singer. She uploaded a screenshot of her listening to the song “I’ll Kill You” by Summer Walker. Naturally, Gomez fans went wild with hate directed at Bieber’s new bae. She later commented on an Instagram post saying that her Instagram story was in no way a reaction to the release of the song.
Gomez also addressed the situation on Instagram with a live stream where she reminded fans to be kind.
“I am grateful for the response that the song is getting. I am so grateful. However, I do not stand for women tearing women down. I will never, ever be by that. So please be kind to everyone,” said Gomez. Sorry Jelena fans, it looks like she’s moved on and taking the high road.
