For anyone feeling nostalgic about mid-90s Nickelodeon show Rocko's Modern Life, have no fear, a return is coming. The question, unfortunately, is when. Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, a feature-length film update, was originally announced in 2017 with a release date set for 2018. That time has come and passed, leaving fans in limbo; until now.

It may have taken half way through 2019, but Static Cling officially has a home at Netflix. Now it just needs a release date!

The official synopsis for Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling is as follows, "Static Cling brings the beloved characters back to Earth after being lost in outer space since 1996. Rocko has trouble accepting this 21st-century modern life, while Heffer and Filburt embrace every aspect of new technology, social media and the endless diversity of food trucks. Rocko wholeheartedly believes that his nostalgia for the past can save him from the tortures of the modern world."

Original series creator Joe Murray wrote the film, and the original voice cast, including Carlos Alazraqui and Tom Kenny are returning as well. Alongside the announcement that the movie would premiere on Netflix, the same fate was also revealed for the long-awaited Invader Zim movies.
