Popeyes Is Now Offering A ‘BYOB’ Service

Unfortunately, Popeyes "BYOB" actually stands for "Bring Your Own Bun". The company has set up an unconventional way for customers to have a taste of their sold-out fried chicken sandwich.

Popeyes first introduced the fried chicken sandwich to their menus in August. The anticipation was so high that many stores had lines wrapping around the building with fans looking to try it. Popeyes couldn't keep up with the demand and the sandwich quickly sold out.

The chain is now experiencing a chicken sandwich shortage and they've implemented a "Bring Your Own Bun" experience to restaurants across the country. Customers are encouraged to bring a bun of their choice, order a three-piece tenders meal and create the sandwich for themselves.

"While we work to get the sandwich back in our restaurants, we wanted to offer our guests a fun way to satisfy their Popeyes sandwich cravings," says Popeyes head of marketing.

However, the company's workaround isn't quite satisfying customers' need for a sandwich. The make-your-own option doesn't include mayo or pickles - half of the ingredients that make up the original sandwich.

Popeyes has promised their customers the chicken sandwich will return soon, so for the time being fans will have to take what they can get - or head to Chick-fil-A.
