A ‘Friends’ Reunion Is In The Works For HBO Max

Yes, you read that right! After denial after denial from the cast, it looks like we might be getting a bit of a Friends reunion afterall. "The Hollywood Reporter" is reporting that six original cast members and the creators are in talks to produce a reunion special for HBO Max.

The special would reportedly be an unscripted special featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer with series creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane.

Sources say that a deal is far from being completed and agreements with the cast and creative team still need to be ironed out. When and if a deal is agreed upon, the next challenge would be to get everyone's schedules aligned.

HBO Max and Warner Bros. TV declined to comment, but the special would be a great way to get people to subscribe to the HBO streaming service as the streaming wars intensify with new platforms every few months.

Aniston, who played Rachel Green in the series, recently appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and gave a flat out "no" when asked if they were doing a reunion. However, she did seem to confirm they were working on something.

"We would love for there to be something, but we don't know what that something is. So we're just trying. We're working on something," said Aniston.

Fingers crossed they get something agreed upon because it's been way too long since we've had any fresh Friends content!
